I’ve been exposed to athletics my whole life. I competed in competitive sports my whole life but found out the real meaning of hard work while growing up in the sticks of Kansas with a compulsive, work-a-holic uncle. I was first introduced to Crossfit while hanging out with Drew’s crazy ass and ran with it from there. I am continuing my education and am always trying to find new knowledge on nutrition and health.

I am originally from the East Coast but have nestled into the laid back life of the Best Coast and am enjoying it so far. When I’m not training grip strength and doing “state of emergency” squats, I like to spend my time brewing and devastating Nazi zombies. Crossfit is also a useful tool in training for the fight against the undead.

CREDENTIALS:
CrossFit Level 1 Trainer, CrossFit Nutrition Certification
BIO:
The fitness community has always been a big part of my life for as long as I can remember. I played various sports growing up and have been a group fitness instructor since high school and I continue to teach spin classes and other fitness classes at local gyms. I started competing in triathlons in college and loved the thrill of competing. In college I was passionate about the importance of proper nutrition as a foundation to a healthy lifestyle and continually strive to learn more about what fuels our body. I came across CrossFit when I first moved to San Diego back in 2007 and it immediately changed my view on functional fitness. I received my Level I CrossFit Certification a year later. After finishing a 4 year Master’s program, I am now licenced in Acupuncture and Chinese herbology. I incorporate functional blood chemistry analysis and nutritional therapy in my practice. It is fulfilling for me to motivate my clients and patients to be the best that they can be
GOALS:
I am very excited about the positive effects that CrossFit has had on me and I’m eager to pass it on and teach others.
FAVORITE QUOTE:
“If you are ending up where you want to be, what difference does it make whether you went fast or slow? Or what difference does it make whether it was painful before it got really good? Isn’t that the point of free will? You get to choose.” -Abraham

BIO:
Born a Navy brat in Spain, I’ve lived in the bullfighting country, Florida, Texas, California, and Japan. I spent most of my life in Monterey, California where basketball ruled my daily routine going through middle school and high school. Hailing from closer to the Bay Area than SoCal, I hate on the L.A. Lakers and remain loyal to the Golden State Warriors, San Francisco Giants, and San Francisco 49ers. As an athlete, I thirst for athletic competition yet have also found refuge in sport performance training and building elite-level fitness. I enjoy the intensity of CrossFit training and love combining it with my sport-specific training. Bringing others along for the ride or helping them to create a ride entirely their own is inspiring in and of itself.
GOALS:
A long walk on the beach, a candlelight dinner, rose petals on the bed–no wait, that’s not right. To attain my master’s degree, have both of my grandmas (91 and 86 years old) be at my future wedding, dunk on a regulation height hoop (5’7 and not getting younger), participate in the running of the bulls in Pamplona, Spain, and continue to strengthen my faith.
